I’ll Eat Nothing For One Day – Intermittent Fasting For Weight Loss

Intermittent fasting is defined as the deprivation of certain foods or fluids over a short interval, usually from one to three days. This type of diet is based on the principle that fasting can reduce the amount of stored body fat and also help the body to increase the production of energy. During the fast, most or all food or drinks are eliminated completely and the person only drinks water. Although intermittent fasting has many health benefits, it can also be dangerous if the right principles are not followed. For example, people who are newly started fasting should not go longer than two days without eating solid foods. There are also dangers when eating or drinking very cold or very hot liquids, such as tea, cocoa, chocolate, and other hot liquids.

In intermittent fasting, a dieter cycles between normal eating windows and time-restricted eating windows in order to help reduce his or her appetite. The foods that are most recommended to eat during these time periods are complex carbohydrates such as pasta and baked goods, with the exception of boiled pasta, which should be eaten at dinner. Foods that are recommended to be consumed periodically during the day include fruits and vegetables, which supply vitamins and minerals, whole grains, lean meats and poultry, fish, beans and lentils, nuts and seeds, and dairy products.

It should be noted that most people who are suffering from hunger disorders, especially those who are insulin resistant, may have serious complications from intermittent fasting. This is because the process introduces artificial food into the body, which requires the body to work harder than usual in order to digest and absorb it. Also, those with diabetes should consult their doctors before starting a diet of intermittent fasting as the level of sugar in their blood could become dangerously low. Also, pregnant or nursing women should ask their doctor’s advice before starting any diet plan.
