What Is Health?
The word “health” is commonly used to describe the condition of a person’s body, mind, and society in general. Health, as we all know, is essential to living a quality life that entails happiness and well being. As such, it is important to educate ourselves about health and educate our children similarly. When teaching your child about health, it is important to get them into the habit of thinking about health as something that matters.
Mental health, on the other hand, is described as “the ability to handle distress and pain well.” According to the World Health Organization (WHO), a variety of definitions have been applied to the concept of mental health over the years. However, one version of this definition is based on the experience of living with a disability or illness. The WHO also notes that the definition of mental health has changed over time, with more attention being given to well-being from an international perspective as opposed to solely focusing on disease prevention and treatment.
Another important note to remember is that the definition of “healthy” or “well adjusted” typically varies by definition. In order to prevent high blood pressure from developing into a serious physical illness, it is important to keep the following aspects in mind: physical activities, proper diet, stress management, alcohol consumption, smoking cessation, and a positive attitude towards health. By being aware of these aspects, it is possible to prevent health issues from developing into something more serious.
